The Accelerated Employment Services program is an employment promotion program, which is carried out to assist livelihood recovery in the tsunami-affected districts. This would support employers through incentives to recruit new employees. It is expected that with the assistance provided through AES, there will be more opportunities for growth and employment creation in the medium term in the local area. The program is focused on jobseekers of Galle, Matara, Hambantota, Ampara and Batticaloa. |

The repatriation, reintegration, rehabilitation and reconstruction (4Rs) program in the North East of Sri Lanka is a joint inter-agency initiative undertaken by UNDP, UNCHR, UNICEF and ILO in the three identified districts of Vauniya, Batticaloa and Mannar. Direct beneficiaries of the program are the internally displaced persons of the selected villages of these districts. Six Key sectors are addressed under this program and the establishment of a Labour Market Information System (LMI) in the identified districts comes under the 4R programs local governance capacity building sector. |
